Yeah, November 9th and you know what that means:
HALO 2 Launch
November 9th, an important date in the life of every avid video gamer - the launch date of HALO 2. Only the most anticipated and hyped game ever HALO 2 is aiming to set the new standard for console-based FPS. Did they succeed? From what I have seen in the Beta: YES!
Anyway, there were a few events in the Seattle area, first here are some pictures from the EMP (Experience Music Project) Party near the Space Needle. Outside they were playing HALO 2 on the big screen and inside they had HALO 2 in the Sky Church (very large screen). In addition they had 48 individual Xboxes hooked up and were doing multiple LAN games. Prizes were awesome with the main thing being a big Master Chief sculpture. Here are some pictures:
Then in the evening EBX had a big midnight sale in the Redmond town center, just a few blocks from Microsoft. The first fans showed up around noon to get in line and the crazy kid that was #1 ended up with a bunch of freebies: stickers, coffee mug, free copy of HALO 2 etc. EBX and Papa John's fed us with pizza and hot wings and it was a great party atmosphere. Shortly after 11:00 PM the Xbox Live Escalade showed up, people jumped out and together with other Bungie folks started throwing freebies into the crowd. T-shirts, backpacks, lanyards, posters, all kinds of stuff. And then finally the countdown... 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and the first 10 people entered the store.
